You know I absolutely LOVED The Bee Sting but the ending put me off reading anything for a month! I’ve only just picked up another novel this week. So many emotions

The Dark is Rising…. Fabulous tale.. BBC Radio did a wonderful job of this a couple of Christmas’ ago. Wonderful if you can access it and listen on headphones.

The Bee Sting was intense! Really amazing book. I felt kind of crazy after it though, and I had just finished Birnam Wood right before picking it up (another book with a mind-blowing ending) and after that I just had to read "beach reads" for a month...

Oof, yeah, that's rough!

Listening to All Fours currently, about 1/3 in. Not sure what I think, I’d be curious for your opinion after you read it. I know there’s a brilliance here but not sure if I want to take ride.

I just finished reading The Postcard by Anne Berest upon your recommendation. I cannot thank you enough for bringing this book into my awareness!! It is indeed a heavy read, but I simply couldn’t put it down; it was emotional, suspenseful, heart wrenching and insightful into that terrible time during the Second World War - and how those dangerous themes persist today. I second your recommendation!!!!♥️

So glad you liked it.

Thank you for these recommendations! I am also home (working) with sick kids (we only made it two weeks into school), and feeling very on the edge in the way you describe. Thank you for the reminder that reading will settle me--it will.

The Ministry of Time was one of my favorite reads so far this year! I couldn't put it down!

Hi Luisa! I am not super knowledgeable about the Arthurian legends but love immersive fantasy reads. Do you think someone who fits my profile would enjoy this book? Thank you xx

Yess...you don't need to know anything about Arthur. It's more that if you did know something about the legends, this would present a different way of looking at them.

Okay, going to get Bee Sting. Birnam Wood is on my nightstand per your recommendation, but it got shoved aside by All Fours, very curious to hear your take!

I’m looking forward to your review of All Fours. I hated it so much. But wonder what it is I missed as I appear to be in the minority!
